After the long rest Mortekai wakes up and tries to sit up as his destroyed right hand remind him of his folly and a soft moan escapes his dry lips.

“Cursed be….”

The small sentence seems to wake up Jiian that lies next to him and he looks up with eyes that are ready for anything, then he recalls where he is and looks at Mortekai.

“Can you hear that?”

Jiian’s excellent hearing was way out of Mortekai’s reach so he just shakes his head.

“What is it?
Jiian listens carefully for a moment, closing his eyes to focus on hearing.

“Drums…and tools.”

He looks up puzzled.
“…and something else…a snarling sound? like a dragon with a cold?”

Mortekai stands up with his other arm that is not as badly wounded and curses loudly.

“They are repairing the bridge, and they have Gargoyles with them….”

He quickly moves toward the door.

“Well…we must get this door open, or they will catch us here like rats. Someone give me some light, my eyes betray me tonight.”

He tried to read the ancient writings on the door without actually touching it, knowing all to well the danger this door represent. Beyond it is the spiral and then…T’’Chais cavern…not the best place to be, but better than facing the blood sucking Gargoyles.

From behind the camp from the woods movement is suddenly observed. Fearing yet another attack the babrarians and the Amazons try to organise in this direction. The woods is silent and only the cries of the wounded when they are tended by the healers are heard.

Then a man comes out of the woods.

The Griswold Chronicle resumes on friday and will after that become a weekly feature with a new chapter every friday. This friday you will read about what happens after the battle at gauntlet bridge and get to know some of the leading characters a bit better while finding new heroes that join the quest.

For those of you wondering when the Chronicle of forbidden ice will begin I am going over the first set of characters to get things started and I hope to be able to present the prologue in a few weeks. There is still room for a few more participants if you have not already signed up.

As for the tales of the not so holy knights of westmarch I have not quite decided yet if I should continue that or not and I am letting time decide for now.

When digging through my old files I found not just the tale of the not so holy knights of westmarch, but also the old Griswold Chronicles cover image!

Its old and today I would probably not touch it with a ten foot pole, but at the time it was the best I could do, and its not that very bad all things considering…. ok it sucks big time

Rainark opened his eyes and saw Graywind moving his way.
“Good morning, Rain” Graywind said as he and Rainark Clasp hands.

Graywind told him he did not know who the field commander was and that he was on his way to his room to gather his supplies.

“Ok Brother, While you get things in order ill be off looking for the field commander”

Rainark turn and headed out to the Yard thinking to him self –A quest before my quest..what a pain– he chuckeled.

Looking everywhere he hope to find the Commander he seeked , and soon…

Mortekai sat next to the campfire next to his friends after yet another hard day battling the minions of the Devil. He seemed to be deep in thought and he watched the others for a while, one by one as if deciding something. Then he says:

“Brothers…I have had a vision.”

The statement is short and blunt and the others suddenly get quiet and watch him.

As some of you might recall the Holy Knights, guided by Mortekai, had just sailed across the large body of water separating their native homeland with the barbarians. There they met up with Jiian, leader of a large group of Barbarians and also kinsman of Mortekai. Through Mortekai they also got in touch with several companies of Amazons that joined them on the shore.

After just a day or so Mortekai vanishes and Cedron find only a slaughter field and Mortekai’s 2 war swords set on each side of the large passageway that the HKW and their friends would pass through later on. Cedron and Morkai are of course worried about this and Cedron follow up on a lead he found at the scene while the small army marches on towards Harrogath, where they hope to be able to base their operations.
